Cinema llo manchi cinema, chedda cinema undavu . cinema edaina goppa cinema ne.

The rubber tire hanging from the letter “na” in the title Chinnanati Prema Katha  tells you the entire flavor of this short film :D

This film is from the same guy who directed the 2 remarkable shortfilms Narmada & BholaSankarudu. Before I say anything about this film, answer to my question – How many short films do we have with child artists? That too, the short films which made it to 2 lakh mark. Finger count, right? Yes…so that alone is enough to say the team succeeded with this film. Yet, lets dig into the details and taste the dish.

This 25 minute short film set with the 3 beautiful child actors, tells the story of a 15 year old boy, who is determined to elope with the girl he is in love with. It is a deeply moving short film with a social conscience which intends to remind the present day children, the sense of responsibility. When their teacher explains the girl of the struggle her parents undergo while bringing her up, she understands it and takes back her decision of running away from the home.  I love the concept of the teacher teaching them to ask for sorry –  as the dialogue goes, “Kshaminchamani okka mata adugu. Mi nanna garva padatadu”. It definitely deserves quite a bit of applause for such a thought-provoking story.

Every aspect of this film is virtually beautiful and innocent. The girl’s characterization is amazing as she slowly changes from a typical reserved girl to the girl in land of love. All credits to the director who made the output from these kids. Its not an easy thing to feature such great performances and  bring out the expressions of love, romance and innocence from kids of that age. While the kids performances lie in the centre of film’s focus, the director Surendra also did a nice job playing the role of the teacher , laying path for the younger generations.

While, Surendra’s script is a perfect blend of innocence, love and raw emotion, the music director Srikanth Koppula scored top notch tunes, brilliantly carrying out the feel of the script. These 2 guys always work out a great combination, right from Narmada to Bholasankarudu to this Chinnanati prema katha. The 2 songs sung by Usha garu and Pallavi brought great hype to this film before release. The flutes by Ravi Shankar and all the live music made by Srikanth offered the scenes a natural and soothening feel, providing a great flavor to the dialogues.

    Positives:

    Acting

    Music

    Negatives:

Climax, which is not as interesting as the remaining film.

What I feel is that because it is a short film with no teenage girls and all that chic-style fun, ;) a major part of the audience wouldn’t be interested in watching it. But whoever manages to start watching it, will for sure adore this cute work, a film that tackles a challenging concept of childhood love with brilliant taking. Thus despite all the odds, this film will surely rise to the surface and reach the greater marks of 1 million. Congrats to the whole team. Keep amazing us with more of your works. We love you.

Cinema llo manchi cinema, chedda cinema undavu . cinema edaina goppa cinema ne. Aithey manchiki daari teese cinemalu, chedu ki daari these cinemalu matrame untai.
